Host: How’s everyone doing? Welcome to Global Gala! Sunny Hong (MBA’19, South Korea): Global Gala really brings us home. It’s a part of the community that we belong to and we invest so much into Global Gala. Kathryn Graddy (Dean, Brandeis International Business School): This celebration really embodies the vision of one Brandeis. We have many different cultures, different schools and faculty, students, and staff, working together to put on this great celebration. Kate Goldfield (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Experience): About ten plus years ago, we became clearer and clearer that we had such a diverse, international population, so we decided that we would try what we call the Global Gala, and begin to pull cultures together, and so we piloted it six years ago, and it just got bigger, and bigger, and bigger. Sushil Krishnan (MSF’19, India): This is like an immersion of so many nationalities, because I’m able to look at different forms of dance, different forms of culture, different traditional dresses. Host: This Global Gala is very special for many reasons, like you are all here. It’s so happy to see everybody! Sunny Hong: This is really the culture of respect and fun! Kate Goldfield: Each piece, little, little, little comes together, and you have the kind of occasion that we have tonight. The most important piece I think, is that when you give, you get. So that’s really what tonight is about. Our students carry a tremendous amount of responsibility. So for them to feel that pride of self, family and country, that adds just immeasurably to our population. Sunny Hong: Diversity is such an important value to IBS. So at Global Gala, we really live out that value, and we see it right here.
