Met Gala Outfits, Starbucks In GOT & Ed Sheeran’s Millions | Good Vibes Only Ep. 16

– Hey everyone, welcome to GVO. I’m Matt Bagwell and for
the next 15 minutes or so, myself and the rest of the HuffPost team will be talking about all of the stories that put a smile on our face this week. Joining me in the BUILD Studios are Ash Percival, Rachel
McGrath and Daniel Welsh. – [Ash] Hiya! – [Matt] Hiya. – [Rachel] Hello. – [Matt] That’s a very camp intro which is quite appropriate because we’re gonna
talk about the Met Gala first of all this week, and the theme this year was camp. Something that we know quite a lot about– (all laugh) – [Ash] You wouldn’t think it, would you? – [Matt] I’d wager. It’s always a real spectacle isn’t it? This year didn’t disappoint either. I’m gonna kick things off because I wanna talk about Lady Gaga, because she was one of the hosts. There she is in her,
one of her many outfits. I think if anyone is going to embrace camp and kinda get it, then I think Lady Gaga probably was. And she certainly made
an entrance this year. So she turned up in that– – [Ash] She made and entrance? She made four! – [Matt] Hang on. (Ash laughs) She turned up the big sort
of voluminous pink thing. And then it took her
15 minutes to basically make her way up the stairs because she was getting undressed by various minions (Ash, Daniel and Rachel laugh) into various outfits. And I thought about it and I thought, actually, I think if your
outfits require assistance in any show performer, that’s quite– – [Ash] Camp. – [Rachel] Yeah. – [Matt] In itself, isn’t it? So yeah, we’re sort of whizzing
through the images here. But yeah she turned up
in that big pink thing, then she was undressed into a really nice black gown actually. Then from there she went into like, I think the campiest, which was a sort of off
the shoulder pink thing. She had like a fake phone. – [Ash] Oh. – [Matt] This is the one. – [Ash] It was very Clueless– – [Rachel] This was my favorite. – [Ash] Meets Trigger Happy TV was how I described the story earlier. (Matt laughs) – [Matt] Clueless meets Happy Trigger TV, yeah that’s perfect, perfect description. And obviously that phone
wasn’t a real phone. She pulled lippy out of it and the diamond earring. – [Ash] You know what? I really enjoyed the pink, just for this. – [Matt] Yeah. – [Ash] If you’ve watched the video of it all sort of unveiling-
I think you said this as well earlier this week, Daniel. It’s not a clean as the pictures look. – [Matt] It’s a little bit clunky. She certainly did a visual depiction and it all sort of culminated in her, essentially a very Gaga outfit which basically was a bra and pants and a massive sort of heel boot. But I mean the poses, the face, she’s giving really good face, it was typical Gaga. Kinda old school Gaga. – [Ash] Yeah this just like
reminds me of that like early sort of Fame, Fame Monster era gala, which anyone, you guys know, is my favorite Gaga. So I was very very excited by this. – [Matt] I’m pinning
all my hopes that this is some sort of indication
that the next album is gonna be a return to Gaga’s origins and we’re not gonna get a country album. – [Daniel] Well did you
see that when she was wearing the underwear, she was dragging like
a trolley behind her, and it had in it bottles of pink rosé and Joanne hats. (Ash, Matt and Rachel laugh) Actually dragging herself, which I think is quite good. – [Matt] Wow, high concept indeed. Ash, who was your favorite– – [Ash] I really enjoyed Billy Porter because he basically entered, – [Matt] Oh wow. – [Ash] How I would like to enter any room which is carried aloft
in a very camp outfit. – [Matt] I don’t think that’s “very camp”. I mean, that’s like next level. – [Ash] That’s, yeah, Billy Porter obviously at the Oscars in the dress, the- What’s the name of her? The name of her has completely escaped me. (snapping fingers) – [Rachel] The name of what? – [Ash] The woman that
eyed him up and down. – [Matt] I don’t know
what you’re talking about. – [Rachel] Oh. – [Ash] Glenn? – [Rachel] Glenn Close. – [Ash] Glen Close. Was famous for the side eye. Then everyone was like,
“How’s he gonna top it?” Well this is how he topped it. – [Rachel] Yeah. – [Ash] Just, what a look! – [Matt] I just want to know how long it took him to get ready, because that eye makeup alone I think must have taken hours. He looks incredible. – [Ash] He looks- Obviously he’s from Pose and other people from Pose were also there on the red carpet and they
all looked stunning too. But he served some looks on that show, but this- They’ve got
to go up a next level in Pose next Series Two now. – [Daniel] Just love
the references as well. It’s very like, Beyonce. It’s very like Pose. It’s very Egyptian queen. I just love all of it. – [Matt] I’m assuming at
such an event like that and the security, they all had to go through one of those
metal detector things. (Ash, Daniel and Rachel laugh) Poor Billy, you know, taking the– – [Daniel] Don’t you mean carried through the metal detector? – [Rachel] Chain by chain. – [Ash] Do you know
what the best thing was? He had a second outfit
for the after party. I’m like, “How’d you top that when you’ve worn that to a party?” – [Daniel] He must have
spent the whole party taking it off. (Ash, Matt and Rachel laugh) – [Ash] That is quite camp in itself. – [Matt] It was glorious. Rachel who was your fave? – [Rachel] So my fave, I had two, but they are kind of themed, sort of go together. The first was Ezra Miller. And this one was mainly about
the makeup, the eye makeup which covered his entire face. And I do know how long this took. Apparently it took over four
hours for all of the eyes. And the makeup artist who does it, she says that she doesn’t even draw it on. She just kind of runs with it. – [Ash] Sorry, that’s makeup? – [Rachel] It’s all makeup, yeah. (Matt laughs) – [Matt] What did you mean? – [Ash] I thought he was like, sort of like googly
eyes stuck on his face. (Matt laughs) – [Daniel] You start with
arts and crafts googly eyes. – [Matt] It looks like one
of those things, you know, like the kaleidoscope– – [Ash] Yeah it does! – [Matt] You look in as
a kid, in that effect. – [Rachel] It must have been so weird talking to him thought, is my thing. Imagine if you were sat
next to him at dinner. How do you have a conversation
with all of those eyes? It’s bizarre. – [Daniel] Is the mask his face? Or is it just a face? – [Rachel] Mhmmm. – [Ash] Oh. – [Rachel] I don’t actually know. The eyebrows– – [Matt] It’s very trippy. – [Rachel] Maybe it is. – [Matt] To look at it. God knows what it would have been like to have been actually
standing in front of him trying to have a conversation. – [Rachel] I absolutely love it. Then the outfit itself as well. It’s like, even though it
is slightly more simple it’s still amazing. The suit and then the corset over the top, I absolutely love this outfit. – [Matt] Yeah. – [Daniel] I love the bob! (Rachel sighs) – [Rachel] That hair is
absolutely brilliant. – [Ash] What you’re aspiring to– – [Matt] That’s a wig, surely. – [Ash] With your current growth, Daniel? – [Daniel] Well this is a bit
more kind of Elizabeth Taylor than what I’m going for. (Ash, Matt and Rachel laugh) – [Matt] What are you trying to go for? – [Daniel] I’m a bit more like, I’m aiming for more
like Johnathan Van Ness, beautiful creature of the sea hair, whereas this is more like
glamorous 50s housewife. – [Rachel] Yeah. – [Matt] Dan who have you gone for? Who is your favorite Met Gala? – [Daniel] Mine’s a bit less theatrical, but still very campy. It’s Kacey Musgraves, the country singer, who is very camp in herself. But I just love this outfit. She’s come as Barbie and the whole idea of
this year at the Met Gala was kind of based on
the essay Notes on Camp. And in that it talks about
how camp is basically like over the top and it’s
consumerist and it’s all of this, but it’s also in the every day. And I think that part of me
just embodies all of that. – [Matt] She went out brave, didn’t she? – [Daniel] She really really did. And I think it’s a less showy outfit than say like Ezra Miller, Janelle
Monae and all of that. But it’s still, even
that look is very Barbie. – [Matt] She’s giving
me Paris Hilton vibes. (Ash and Rachel exclaim) – [Daniel] It is very Paris Hilton. It’s very like- – [Rachel] I love it. – [Daniel] Trixie Mattel. It’s very Clueless, again. – [Ash] Do you think if we had had the Met Gala in the UK though, the element of camp would have
played out very differently? – [Matt] I think that, yeah. I think that would have attracted sort of Amanda Holden and– – [Ash] That’s what I would go as! – [Daniel] I’d like Pat Butcher– – [Ash] Yeah! – [Daniel] and Dot Cotton. – [Matt] It would have
been slightly less high sort of glamor thing. – [Ash] Someone asked
me earlier this week. They were like, “Oh if you
had to go to the Met Gala, what would you have gone as
or what would you have worn?” And I think I would go
as like a character. So I think I would have gone
as like Pasty from Ab Fab. (Rachel laughs) Or I would have gone as Pat Butcher. – [Matt] Never given it
any though I must admit. All those four definitely got the brief, ’cause not everyone did, did they? I thought it was a little bit, some people just turned
up in, bit sparkly- – [Rachel] Yeah. – [Daniel] And then the
men wore (mumbles) always. Boo! (Ash, Matt and Rachel laugh) Not invited next year! – [Matt] Hopefully next
year’s- We’ll all have to see what the theme is. Hopefully everybody will get it. But I wanna move on because Game of Thrones is still
in sort of full swing. Everyone’s obsessed with it, apart from three people. – [Ash] Apart from me. (all laugh) – [Matt] But what I was
obsessed with this week was this faux paus that occurred
in one of the scenes where a Starbucks coffee
cup was left in the scene. There’s the pic. How on earth that
happened is beyond anyone. You know the amount of crew, cast etc. But it still made it’s way into the scene. It has since been erased. – [Rachel] Yeah they’ve
erased it from the HBO and the now TV’s one. It is gone. Because I think it was only on screen for a couple of seconds, but yeah. It lived and breathed. – [Ash] You’d have to be
pretty eagle eyed to spot that. I genuinely don’t think I would. – [Matt] You’d think
Emilia Clarke would have been a bit more eagle eyed. (Ash, Daniel and Rachel laugh) Anyway in the spirit of what we do on the show on a weekly basis, we’re gonna have a quiz hash based on alien objects, I believe. – [Ash] Yes! (Rachel laughs) It’s based on errant objects
turning up in period dramas. And in honor of that, it’s
called What Are You Doing There? (Matt laughs) – [Rachel] Gets worse every time. – [Matt] It does. – [Ash] Right, first up, Daniel. This still here is taken
from a battle scene that occurred in 13th century piece. What you might not be able to spot is there’s a Ford Mondeo just
hidden away just here. But can you tell me which
film this featured in? – [Daniel] Well this is
sort of an overlap of my blind spots in terms of my knowledge, i.e. cars and historical drama. (Matt laughs) So you have to excuse my ignorance. I’m gonna guess the hit Mel Gibson outing, Braveheart. – [Ash] That is correct! – [Daniel] Is it? – [Matt] Well done. – [Ash] There you are! Correct, one point to Daniel. Rachel- – [Rachel] I can’t believe
you got that right. (Ash, Daniel and Matt laugh) I know we’re speeding through. (all laugh) – [Ash] This question, this still is taken from the film Gladiator. But can you tell me what
is out of place here? – [Rachel] Oh it’s the gas canister. It was being used to
help power the chariot. – [Ash] That is indeed correct, Rachel. And this is because the gas canister was only invented 1,600 years after Gladiator was actually set. – [Rachel] I mean that’s not shocking. (all laugh) I knew the gas canister
was invented much later. – [Ash] I mean I got
confused on the dates. I was trying to look it up, I was trying to do the maths, like the dates in between, and I just, yeah, struggled a little bit. – [Matt] I really hope mine’s
gonna be as easy as that. – [Ash] Matt, this blunder
shows a water bottle in the background of a
Downton Abbey press shot. But how did the cast
respond to this blunder? – [Matt] Oh come on that’s not as easy as “There’s a gas canister”. How did they respond? (Ash and Daniel laugh) I don’t know, with a
sponsorship deal with Evian? – [Ash] Incorrect, Matt. – [Matt] Well, quelle surprise. – [Ash] They shared this photo on Twitter of them all posing with water bottles. – [Matt] Oh what a bunch of wags. (Ash, Daniel and Rachel laugh) (Matt laughs) I still think they should
have gone for the sponsorship. – [Ash] Hilarious, I think you’ll agree. Daniel, coming back to you. What is unusual about this
scene taken from The Crown? (Matt laughs) On the surface of it, I don’t
think there looks much wrong, (Matt laughs) – [Rachel] Do you want me to move? – [Daniel] Is it that old couple had actually been dead for 100 years and they are ghosts haunting the set trying to bring down the
monarchy from beyond the grave? – [Matt] Someone’s
definitely had a coffee. – [Ash] Erm. – [Matt] I think I know what it is. – [Rachel] I mean I think- – [Ash] It’s not much Daniel – [Matt] There’s modern flats. – [Ash] You got it. Here we are. This is meant to be set in the 1950s and here we are with a nice little modern block
of flats on the street. – [Matt] You not spot that? – [Daniel] I was too busy trying to invent that couple’s back story. You know what? Not much payoff there was there really? – [Matt] Not really. – [Ash] Sorry, Daniel. No points for you there. Rachel, this scene shows a TV aerial on top of a chimney in
a scene set in 1912. However television wasn’t
invented until 15 years later, hence it’s rather a blunder. But which show is this taken from? – [Daniel] Matt, how
did you amuse yourself if there was no TV? – [Matt] We’ll cut that out. – [Rachel] The Bagwell
Childhood Chronicle. (all laugh) All I know about 1912 is that it’s the year the Titanic sank. So I’m gonna say that is from an ITV budget daytime drama about that year. – [Ash] No it’s actually from
the high budget ITV drama, Downton Abbey. – [Rachel] Oh, sorta right. – [Daniel] No the first
episode of Downton Abbey’s about Titanic. They find out all the rich
folks had died on the Titanic, that’s why they have to– – [Rachel] Are you being serious? – [Daniel] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. – [Matt] Okay we digress. Final question, fingers crossed. – [Daniel] I believed that rigged her. ITV wasn’t low budget. – [Ash] Who’s in charge of
dishing out points here? – [Daniel] I’ve just
got this thing, justice. (Rachel laughs) – [Ash] Sorry, Rachel. No points for you there. Matt, what is unusual
about this press shot used to promote Poldark? – [Matt] Oh there’s a burglar alarm. – [Ash] Yes! – [Matt] Yes! – [Ash] Incorrect. – [Matt] Oh. – [Ash] All right well I think
that’s actually a tie break? I think? – [Matt] Have you got a tie breaker? – [Rachel] I thought you
were dishing out the points. (all laugh) – [Ash] So I’m gonna ask
you a tie break question and I want you to get it right. It’s basically the nearest person wins. So fans wrongly identified the coffee cup in the Game of Thrones
gaff was from Starbucks. It wasn’t actually from Starbucks, it belonged to a Belfast
company called Paper Cup. But how much was the blunder estimated to have given Starbucks
in advertising revenue? – [Daniel] Six billion dollars! – [Ash] I got six billion dollars. – [Matt] I don’t think
they’d work that out. – [Rachel] $800,000. – [Ash] Okay. Matt? – [Matt] Surely it’s a rolling number because it’s only just happened. – [Ash] Well this was as of yesterday. – [Matt] Oh I’ll say a million. (Ash sighs) – [Ash] Oh I’ve forgotten to have written the answer down! (all laugh) – [Daniel] Oh, has anyone got Google? – [Matt] Forgotten to
written the answer down? (Matt laughs) – [Ash] The answer was around two billion. – [Daniel] Oh! – [Ash] Daniel, I’m
gonna give that to you. – [Daniel] What? – [Matt] Two billion? – [Daniel] You know, hang on, I think that person who
got million was closest. – [Ash] I can’t do that. – [Daniel] ‘Cause I’m four billion away. – [Ash] Oh, so you’re closest. So congratulations, Rachel. – [Rachel] Thank you. – [Daniel] “I thought you
were doing the points!” – [Rachel] Determined
to steal this from me. – [Daniel] Also I
determined for you to win. – [Matt] Also, what did you say? $800,000. – [Rachel] Yeah. – [Matt] ‘Cause I said a million. – [Ash] Oh! – [Matt] So you guys
should make me the winner. – [Ash] What a mess this has been! (all laugh) – [Daniel] I think we all know
who doesn’t win this week. – [Matt] That was an absolute disaster. You won’t be hosting
anymore quizzes for QVO, for future reference. Moving swiftly on, Rachel what is going up and what is going down
this week in celeb stuff? – [Rachel] So this week we have two people from the music world. Going up this week is Ed Sheeran. Specifically going up on
the Sunday Times Rich List. So bit of a debrief on the Rich List, it’s full of older stars, good vibes only. We’ll be nice. – [Daniel] More mature stars. – [Rachel] Yeah more mature stars. – [Matt] Like who, Rachel McGraw? – [Rachel] Like Andrew Lloyd Webber, Paul McCartney, U2. So they do a sort of a younger edit with the rising people. And Ed Sheeran, thanks mostly to an insane amount of touring, has
risen to the top of that. So hopefully he’ll get his friends a round of drinks this weekend. – [Matt] He’s now worth 160 million? – [Daniel] Oh my God, same! – [Matt] It means that
he’s now the wealthiest young musician, and he’s taken that from, going down this week. – [Rachel] Down this week, seamless. He has taken it from Adele who’s been resting on her laurels quite frankly. No, I’m kidding. We obviously adore her. – [Ash] She’s had a bit of stuff going on! – [Rachel] She has a lot going on. She obviously did have a most recent album and a huge tour that came with that. So she was right on
top and then, you know, she’s been spending some
time on her private life. So yeah, she’s gone down. But still got– – [Matt] But still worth about 40 million. – [Rachel] A hell of a lot of money. – [Matt] 40 million. Not sure, maybe a bob or two. – [Rachel] She’s not looking
for a loan anytime soon. – [Daniel] And also
there’s a new album coming. I think this time next
year she’ll most likely be back in the top. – [Rachel] Enjoy it while it lasts Ed. (all laugh) – [Matt] Unfortunately that’s
all that we got time for but make sure you check
out HuffPost Entertainment for the latest news and
gossip at buildseries.com/uk for the latest celebrity interviews and we shall see you next week. Bye!
