We’re here with Mrs. Splash- Nessa Preppy How’s your carnival going so far? It’s been great, busy as usual but taking it one day at a time so far. Loving the vibes as always If you could collab with anybody from any industry, Who would it be? I would say The Weekend! I love his music, love his vibe He’s one of my favorite artists. Patrice Roberts performs We’re here at Strength of a Woman with Motto So Motto, tell us You being from St. Lucia, why should come to St. Lucia for carnival? Is that a question? The vibes, the music, the people, the food Ammm, St. Lucia is one of the carnivals that have been growing, becoming prominent in the islands. every year, last year there was a lot of foreigners Because of the whole dennery segment, the whole lucian soca that is taking over right now. So definitely because of the music and because I’m telling y’all come as an ambassador, come to St. Lucia for carnival. What advice would you give to upcoming soca artists? I think the most important thing is to find yourself. Find your talent, find your voice, find the right team around you. The people who will support you. And not just there for the money. Management, your image is very important. The most important thing is to find yourself and your talent and be yourself. “Happy Carnival” performance Originally from Carriacou, Grenada We’re here with Mr. Wrong Again, Skinny Banton. First of all, big up to everybody, Di Soca Analysts We here backstage live at “Strength of a Woman” Taking in all the vibes, you know! What collabs can we expecgt from you in the future? Well you know we working, we always workiung Constantly, we keep reaching out to the different producers, different artists. We get positive response, we get negative response I don’t like saying stuff before it happens, sometimes along the way people mind’s change. We constantly working so you can expect anything crazy, anything joyful, a lot of work in progress. We don’t want to a cap on anything yet. How is your carnival season going thus far? Well, it’s joy to the world. Everything good! Wrong Again, we out here tunnin up the mic Tun it up LOUD, just holding a vibe. Waz d scene allyuh? We’re here with “Viking Ding Dong” Thanks for being with us today Tell us, what inspired the song “Outside ?” Well, what inspired the song, I wanted a song to enter the competition so, it’s a long story I trying to give yuh a quick synopsis. I went a studio, System 32 In West Trinidad I went with my own beat but as producers now when you’re doing work, you want to push out your own beat and own material so, that’s how the whole song came about. That is about it. I went there, everything was history It was magic, everything was good. Vibes! Not only are you an artist, you’re a DJ for the vikings camp, you also work on radio and you do a mix of other things, how do you balance it all? Well, everything…. I don’t know how I do it but it does work out at the end of the day *laughs* As I said to everybody, this ting I have no formula to what I do, I does just do it. I doh overthink! All I do is just, approach it with good energy positive vibe nice mindset and I does get through everything in life. Jel: WOW! Last but not least, should we expect any collabs with any artists in the future? YEAH, Plenty collabs inno I just waiting to build myself first. I doh want no artist to say because of them is why I reach here. I wanna build mehself in a certain way and then I’ll be able to do the collaborations. Waz d scene allyuh! We’re here with Melly Rose For upcoming artists, what advice would you give them? Don’t stop! Don’t give up! Keep pushing despite how hard it gets Which it will get hard, just don’t stop. Keep pushing AND stay in yuh lane. Focus and pay attention. Don’t look left, don’t look right. Just keep pushing in your lane. Can we expect any collabs for this year? Yea, I’m actually already recording so I have like two collabs already. Can you say who? Give us a hint nah! When it’s time to release, I’ll send it to Di Soca Analysts first! VIBES! You heard it here first. Melly Rose has a secret collaboration Keep it locked to DSA- Di Soca Analysts to learn more. Melly Rose, thanks! Thank you for having me. Have a safe carnival! We’re here with the vincy bad boy Problem Child Problem, how’s it going today? Everything good! Vibes! Congratulations on being in the International Soca Monarch finals Tell us how is the Trinidad Carnival 2020 season treating yuh so far? Thank you, first of all. It’s treating me, just the same as usual. It’s just work work work, you know. Whether it’s up or down you just put the same effort the same foot forward and never complain. I just do my job, that’s it. Last but not least, I know you’re heavy into the writing. Yuh heavy into making things happen in the scene. What advice would you give someone who is younger coming up in the industry? Just don’t give up, cause you never know when it’s going to happen. Be willing to learn, be willing to listen and don’t stop. Learn from yuh mistakes and the basic stuff that people always say. Just know that it’s the truth! All the cliché stuff is the truth. Just don’t give up, learn from your mistakes you know, every loss is not a set back. It’s a set back for a comeback. Just don’t stop. You heard it here from Problem Child Problem, thanks for being on the show boss. All the best for the year. So tell us, what’s your favorite Patrice Roberts song for 2020?
