  1. Still can't believe I'll never see them live again. First saw them on the Green world tour in 89. Last saw them at Hyde Park. Best band ever. Full Stop.

  2. que fantastica banda ..!

    la mejor para mi !

una banda humilde y sin pretender

ser los mejores sin necesidad de pretenderse

en el mundo de la Merkanteria para ser mas que otros.

  3. this isnt the encore, its highlights from the full gig. The full setlist was:
set: Living Well Is The Best Revenge / These Days / What's The Frequency, Kenneth? / Begin The Begin / Man-Sized Wreath / Drive / Ignoreland / Hollow Man / Imitation Of Life / Electrolite / The One I Love / Losing My Religion / Fall On Me / Let Me In / Bad Day / Horse To Water / Orange Crush / I'm Gonna DJ

encore: Supernatural Superserious / It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) / Man On The Moon

  4. Everytime l hear Drive l always think it was written tween 2000 and 2008. (BUSHwacked…Tie another one to the racks…) Un/Pre-timely l suppose.Peace

  5. I Believe Stipe & Co. were writing about George H.W. Bush, who was president when "Automatic For the People's" songs were written, just before Clinton took office. "Ignoreland" (from AFTP) was written about the Iranian hostage situation in 1979 that led to a Reagan/Bush Sr. White House, and the Iran Contra (arms for hostages) scandal the administraion facilitated, then the subsequent pardoning of IC's key players during the elder Bush's presidency. Stipe is no friend of conservative governments

  6. Cheers for that info.l must look into "lgnoreland." l usually do look into lyrics to understand song's meanings.l hate it when writers say "take what you want from lyrics" ( NAH.You meant something-so don't hide it,is my motto ) "lgnoreland" l've never really LISTENED to properly.Off to do so right now. Thanks again.Peace

  7. I've been a fan of this extrodinary band form it's indie(I.R.S.) days. Those releases.."Life's Rich Pagent", "Fables of the Reconstruction" "Document" Reckoning" and "Murmer"..(not in that order) five of the most incredible albums ever recorded..Funny..Thing,this gig was recorded on July 10th, 1 day before my birthday(wish I was there) OUTSTANDING!!

  8. This band still puts a smile on my face, and makes me a little sad too cause it reminds me of the "days gone by…." Ha! Good, bad, or ugly……they were Great, GREAT! Im still the same…haven't changed my name….. wow…

  9. grande gruppo davvero mitici , li o visti a Milano nel 2010 da brividoooooooooooooooooo  peccato si siano sciolti ma la loro musica non morira mai

  10. "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?"

"What's the frequency, Kenneth?" is your Benzedrine, uh-huh
I was brain-dead, locked out, numb, not up to speed
I thought I'd pegged you an idiot's dream
Tunnel vision from the outsider's screen
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh
You wore our expectations like an armored suit, uh-huh

I'd studied your cartoons, radio, music, TV, movies, magazines
Richard said, "Withdrawal in disgust is not the same as apathy"
A smile like the cartoon, tooth for a tooth
You said that irony was the shackles of youth
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh

"What's the frequency, Kenneth?" is your Benzedrine, uh-huh
Butterfly decal, rear-view mirror, dogging the scene
You smile like the cartoon, tooth for a tooth
You said that irony was the shackles of youth
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
I never understood the frequency, uh-huh

You wore our expectations like an armored suit, uh-huh
    I couldn't understand
You said that irony was the shackles of youth, uh-huh
    I couldn't understand
You wore a shirt of violent green, uh-huh
    I couldn't understand
    I never understood, don't f*** with me, uh-huh

  11. Going to see Stipe the UK's best REM tribute band next week – can't wait. I was lucky to see REM live about 5 times.

  12. God have musersey for all the men that fired in vet nom and the chemicals they where exposed to please don't forget them.

  13. No other band will ever reach this level of excellence in my lifetime. I don't think anyone even cares about making music this good at this point in history.

  14. Bringing it to 11, 11 years ago. Them, Hendrix, Sex Pistols, Love&Rockets, Queen and Siouxsie & The Banshees were on my bedroom walls in high school and university. How about you?

  15. Love the captions! Hilarious. Regret never seeing these guys. Listened to the hell out of them in high school and college and then when they hit it super big I sort of lost interest. Seemed like they were just played to death on radio and MTV. So I kept seeing the Dead and their remnants, and Phish and all the jam bands and missed out on every seeing these guys live. My loss for sure. They were truly a great band. Auto for the People still slays me to this day. Lyrics like the world has never seen. Thankful for Youtube 🙂
