♪ [music] ♪ – [Oleg] I hope you like this movie, yeah,
because this is a…video it is very hard working and I dance and an action
fills time, and I hope you like this. – [Ralph] He’s a young man coming to terms
with one kind of world and another kind of world. In the end,
the story culminates in a choice, a life choice which we all have to
encounter in one way or another in our lives, so I think there’s plenty
that people are going to identify with. – [David] I met Nureyev a couple of
times and I could remember what he was like, and anyone who ever met
him never really forgot him, and so, I didn’t think that anybody
had really done him justice yet, and so I wanted to write about that moment
where he defected to the West. And yeah, Nureyev was a very selfish man,
but he was a selfish man in the pursuit of something that he wanted to
achieve, which was great dancing. And I think it reminds people that art at
that level is at a completely different intensity to how most of us live
our lives. I hope it shows that. ♪ [music] ♪ – The process of being inspired and
receiving ideas and emotions from other artists, from other countries,
I think is important for us collectively, especially in these times when
we’re all regrouping into tribal and nationalistic entities.
I think this is the time the artist’s voice needs to be heard more than ever.
